All Good Things Must Come to an End

My dear friends,

After several months of absence, I had decided to start posting again but, it is with much sadness that I have decided to stop posting on this blog altogether.  It has been a fun number of years sharing my love of vintage vinyl along with memories of my childhood and mother (who I credit for my love of this music).  But it has lost its "fun-ness" for me - losing almost all my links when a certain website (which will remain nameless) was closed down, being told to remove other links from my posts, and now having some of my links flagged as "not to be shared" on the current storage website I have been using so that when you go to download, it won't let you.  (Even my own compilations that I put together are now flagged that way!)  I am not going to delete this blog, but will not add any more posts.  Any working links will remain, but I will not re-up any deleted links.

Thank you all so much for your following through the years, and for your wonderful comments.  I hope I was able to bring some happy memories to you all, and to introduce you to some music that you enjoyed.  If you would like to contact me via email, please post a comment with your email address (comments are moderated, so I will not publish those) and I will contact you.

With much love and gratitude from -
Just someone who's trying to fill the world with music, one note at a time...

The Chipmunks - Christmas With the Chipmunks Vol.2

I actually bought this record a few years ago (probably from the HPB bargain bin), so I didn't grow up listening to it like the first one. I definitely think the first one is better. But it's still a fun Christmas album and goes great with the first one! Christmas wouldn't be complete without the Chipmunks singing your favorite Christmas carols!  (I have to confess that when I was in college, I bought the "Chipmunk Punk" album, but I believe I traded it in at HPB at some point.)

Track listing for Christmas With the Chipmunks Vol.2:

Side 1:
1. Jingle Bell Rock
2. Deck the Halls
3. The Twelve Days of Christmas
4. Hang Up Your Stockin'
5. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
6. Jolly Old Saint Nicholas

Side 2:
1. Wonderful Day
2. Christmas Time
3. (All I Want for Christmas Is) My Two Front Teeth
4. O Christmas Tree
5. The Night Before Christmas
6. Here We Come A-Caroling

The Ray Charles Singers - Here We Come-A-Caroling (1956)

Hi, friends!  I know it's been some time but Christmas is almost here so it's time to share some of my Christmas records! This is a great album to accompany you while you sing Christmas carols. All the songs are the familiar and traditional ones we grew up with. Play the album at home and sing along while decorating or for your Christmas party! Here's an idea - if you want to go Christmas caroling but don't think you have enough people, tape the album and play it while you sing along! Then it will sound like you have a whole chorus (and if you play it loud enough, it may drown out those not-so-good voices)! I hope this album gets you feeling the spirit of Christmas!

Old Posts

Dear friends,

Due to the "take down" of a certain website a few months ago, I lost all my music backups that were stored on that site.  As a result, there are no links to most of the old posts.  As of this time, I do not plan to re-up those links as there are way too many and it would take a lot of time.  I am sorry if this inconveniences you.  But I hope you will still visit and see what "new" albums I share from my vintage record collection (I'll try to be more regular in my postings!).

In the meantime, please visit my other blog, The Spin-O-Rama Hour, which is a weekly one-hour (or close to it) podcast of vintage music.  (Unfortunately, I lost the older archived episodes, too.)

Thanks for visiting!
Esther
