Xavier Cugat - Cugi's Cocktails (1963)
Time to invite some friends over for cocktails and put on your dancing shoes! I have yet to find an album by Xavier Cugat that I didn't like. And I just love this one! The songs all have cocktail names and I guess my favorite (tonight, anyway) is "Zombie" (because tonight is the season premiere of the zombie TV show, "The Walking Dead"). The album cover is cool, too - definitely worth framing! So, mix yourself a few cocktails and dance a little!

Just wanted you to know how much I appreciate the music you post. I run a local 24/7 micro broadcast FM station for the residents of our condo association and your music provides many free enjoyable hours of listening each day.
Hello Esther;
What a warm & lively post!
It's not my usual thing, but it made me want to grab my wife by the hand to tango!
My fave tune here is "The Zombie", ANY NIGHT, as I love the mellow, warm ambiance.
I have followed Stax O' Wax for a long time, and I think this "Cugi" album really reflects your sunny personality:)
Cheers!
.
Thank you very much!
A classic example for me of something old that is totally new. I think we played some of this kind of music when I was in high school band. Sounds great on my iPod but would probably sound better on vinyl being played on one of those big Admiral Console stereos.
Thank you so much for this gem, it is brightening my gloomy afternoon (which is so short in this season).
I don't know who the above "mel" is but it's not me...
