Nelson Riddle - Sing a Song With Riddle (1959)

Here's a treat for those of you who like karaoke. This album by Nelson Riddle has the background music for several hit songs from back in the day, and all it needs is your voice to sing along! The album itself even has the sheet music and lyrics for each of the songs. I tried to sing along but the songs are all in keys that are a little high for me (my vocal range is more like Diana Krall's), but maybe y'all will have better luck. I bought this many years ago and it's the hi-fi version. So, if anyone has the stereo version, I would love it if you shared it! I absolutely love Nelson Riddle!

Track listing for Sing a Song With Riddle:

Side 1:
1. Little White Lies
2. Darn That Dream
3. Near You
4. Day In-Day Out
5. The More I See You
6. My Baby Just Cares for Me

Side 2:
1. Everywhere You Go
2. I Had the Craziest Dream
3. Fools Rush In
4. You Make Me Feel So Young
5. It's a Sin to Tell a Lie
6. You're Driving Me Crazy

This is an excellant record. Some of the songs have Sinatra's arrangements. If you can scan the lyrics that would be nice.
A very nice selection of songs. Thanks Esther, Vince

Great find! Riddle's arrangements are always a joy to hear.

This is sort of the 1950s version of the Beach Boys' "Stack O' Tracks." Wonder if the same person at Capitol has both ideas.

Well Esther, I'm a bit of a ham, & I love to croon! What a special discovery this Nelson Riddle concept is. As luck would have it,it seems to be to my personal range's limited liking.
That likely means your range & mine would be good duet material. You know, the way Sinatra sang from the studio over the phone lines, miles & miles away from Carly Simon & her harmony.
Anyway, thanks alot for this!:))

WOW... I LUVVVV THIS ALBUM!!

I have so many favorites I have found here at Stax.

The "Sex Kittens" is another.

By the way, suggestion. In the ZIP file along with the MP3 files and JPGs, include some kind of Link file to your blog.

I have so many folders of Easy Listening that I sometimes forget where I got them. And to have a link in the folder would really help. Thanks.

Thanks for having a great Blog!

Thanks Esther. There is no way that anyone could go wrong listening to Nelson Riddle. Listening to me singing along would easily clear the alley of any stray cats.

I just bought this record for a dollar at Aemoeba music in Los Angeles. I stumbled onto your blog looking for information on this album. Singing along with Riddle re-affirms my decision NOT to pursue a career fronting for a re-formed Tommy Dorsey orchestra.
